Looking for a Cadillac like grill option for the custom header panel I am making from a 1983 Olds Cutlass rwd for my 80 century project.
I've put a 81 Eldorado grill over it for reference to my idea, it's narrow in comparison and bends forward likely needing more custom work than I. Want to do.
According to my measurements an 81 brougham grill although tall has the correct width I need,

But I was wondering if anyone would measure an 79 / 80 malibu or even a monte carlo grill so I don't have to make a custom bumper.
I was also looking at measuring out a 77-79 fleetwood grill.

I assume you know the 82-83 Malibu nose, although bigger eggs in the crate, is a very close clone of the 1st gen Seville.

I've considered that, but I wanted a more original look to this build being it has a cadillac motor and interior going into it. I wouldn't mind an aftermarket chrome grill of some sort. I may have to make my own, I'm unsure. Cutting a brougham grill has its appeal as it fits width wise perfect. Just checking out there for the measurements of other options or ideas.

Interesting.......I've had a similar idea floating around in my head for years.....basically build a "what would a Cadillac G-body look like" tribute car.

Have you thought about incorporating cadillac tail lights into the build? It would be fairly straightforward with 81-88 cutlass taillight extensions.....since the shape is similar.....probably a more of challenge with century extensions.

What are you doing for wheels? 15" steel wheels with Cad wire wheel covers would look slick.

Well im glad I'm not the only one who has thought on this! I've upgraded to 15in Rims, and I was looking at putting a pair of 79-85 eldorado fins on with some modifications (possibly, I'm still mapping thar part out).
I'm incorporating Calais name trim and Deville badging and ornaments, since they didn't make a Calais in the 80s cadillac line.
On the engine front, it's almost in, it's rather unconventional so I'll share it when it's done or near done. I'm still figuring suspension modifications, upgrading to the TH350C I purchased, but it's under way. Other things I really want is to upgrade to power wing windows and soft top trim. (In my photo the header is just sitting on there.)

Cool project. Please post updates as you get further into it.

Did my own thing, I think it looks good so far. I took my spare 1981 Eldorado grill and cut it up the middle so I could adjust it's curvature to the front of the header. Then I cut the top strip from the Oldsmobile grill and used it as my grill cap instead of using the Cadillac topper and having to do extra body work. Paired it with my spare Eldorado bumper for the picture, I will use one from a Seville when I find one local. I'll fiberglass the gaps up and with the bumper I will cut and put blinkers in. That's where I'm at now with this part.

That's an awesome idea/look...I'm digging it only bc I have a Caballero, GMCs version of the Chevy EC. Possibly make the caballero look Sierra-ish with those pieces.
