what kinda cam can i put in my stock 68 sbc 350? if i put new springs and rockers in without a new cam will it give a different lift/ duration..etc?

Q: What kind can you put in?
A: Any kind you want. Depends on your intended purpose.

Q: Will springs or rockers change lift and duration?
A: Springs - no. Rockers - yes.

If the engine is mainly stock -- something similar to an Edelbrock Performer. Unless you are going to the track or have a lot of speed parts already. Generally speaking, less is more. Torque is what you feel and what makes a car feel more powerful. Focus on low-end and mid-range. Match springs to the cam. There really is no need to go beyond 1.5 rockers if a cam is being changed. It only adds stress to the valve-train. Higher ratio rockers are used to increase lift and duration of an existing cam or to "fine tune" after a cam swap. Roller rockers reduce friction and thus free up a little bit of power. It shows up on a dyno but you won't likely feel it.

not to be an *ss, but you would need more info than just you want some more muscle, a cam is a make or break in power... you want a cam with more muscle, go to high in lift and duration, then your moving your peak power up the power band which would cause you to get a higher stall converter and rear gears, you have a 350, if the cars completely stock, look at a lunati 262 or lower and look at the same from other brands like comp etc.. nice smooth idle and you probably will have some fun with it.. give more info lol
