I have no clue about cams, so can someone explain these specs as in what type of performance I should get out of it. Here are the specs that was told to me by the machine shop. I hope I wrote them down right.

525 intake and 525 exhaust
at 50 thousand (I believe I typed that right)
218 intake and 226 exhaust
113 degrees center line

There is a lot of info on the net to explain your questions. Look up (Camshaft explained) and there are 4 you tube videos to watch. What you need to know is that the cam, intake, carb, heads, exhaust, torque converter, and rear end all need to be compatible to achieve your goal.

Best thing to do IMO is call a couple cam manufactures with what u have and what your true intentions of the car is. The other thing I suggest when comparing cams is always look at actual (@50) not advertised.

That is a lot of lift for the rest of the spec's you have on that cam - sure it's not .425? With the exception of the .525 lift, the cam is just a step above a stock cam - not a loper. What is the cam and #?

Imo the biggest variable in cam specs is duration. Too much duration and you will need vacuum pump for brakes. I reccomend calling cam companies and explain what you want to do with the vehicle. Comp has been pretty spot on when I've asked them questions. I went hyd roller, biggest duration @ .050 I could get was 218/224 before vacuum was an issue.

Yeah those #'s seem off. My cam is a .5295"/.5445" lift with 233/241 @.50

The only thing odd I see is that you have the same lift on the int. and ex with it being a split duration cam. It could have been ground that way though, so you could run the same ratio rocker on each valve.

My cam is 212/226 @ .050 with .483/520 lift with a 1.5 rocker. If I ran a 1.6 on the int. it would have .515 lift which is pretty much the same as the ex.
