Hello all I need some help choosing a a cam. My current set up is 350 stock bore I believe .30 over at the most, it has camel humps (186's), 650cfm performance QJ, trans is 200r4, and running 3.73 gears. It currently has a small cam meant to pass smog but I want to wake it up. It is Basically a mild 350....

I want to stick to flat tappet hydralic, with the stock spring/rocker ratio because I dont think its worth investing more money into the camel humps and I also want to run the stock stall converter but wouldnt mind upgrading the converter if necessary to get more out of it cheaply. Oh and this is in an El Camino that will be 90% street, 10%strip and I want it to make some good power

Any suggestions on duration and lift ranges i should be searching for? anyone running a similar combo?

thanks

You need to know your compression ratio before you can pick out a cam. Guessing is not an option if you want to do it right. Are you running headers? Does it still need to pass smog? How much lope can you tollerate?

If you have good CR and end up going with a bigger cam, you will need to upgrade your converter for best performance.

There is no such thing as a 650 cfm Qjet, unless the air valve opening is being limited.
