I'm in the process of putting a chevy engine in my cutlass. These wires are coming from under the heater box & I dont think I need any of them... Can i cut them

I know i need to keep these for my blower motor & AC so these will stay

i say dont cut them, coil them up and zip tie em' outta the way...imo

Yea, don't cut anything, yet. There will be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

The one on the right is a map sensor. The left is probably a relay and not sure about the middle. You don't need the map sensor without the computer. Bottom photo on left is also a relay. Figure out before hacking.

I never cut wires, they are connected to something so I disconnect them and remove them. And like the others have posted unless I am sure I leave them until the job is complete

The one on the right is the MAP sensor, the middle is the Electronic Spark Control, and the left is a relay, probably the choke relay if this was a V6 car. The emissions harness is one piece that comes out through a fitting in the firewall below the heater box. Just disconnect the harness from the ECU inside the car, unbolt the fitting on the firewall (you may need to loosen the inner fender to get at it), and just pull the whole emissions harness out of the car. It is completely separate from the engine and light harnesses that route to the firewall connector under the brake booster. Cover the hole with a plate and you're done. Lots cleaner that way, and you're assured of only removing the wires in the emissions harness.

Go to the dollar store and get a 2 packs of zipties, a pack of long ones, and a pack of short ones. Use 'em.

Thanks a lot! The car is no longer controlled by the computer so those wires, sensore & relays are not needed! Thanks!
