I love the sounds of a choppy idle of a cammed up engine. No replacement for a small block with a 292 comp cam. My six cylinder Monte sounds dumb to me!

Yep! Here is a clip of my 355 before it died! 292/302 duration, .488/.510 lift summit cam (K1107) through Pypes M-80 mufflers. It rattled the ground 🙂

It is a toss up. There are certain things a modern performance car offers as a daily driver that is proving so nice in my later years. However, the visceral interactions with a 25+ year old car is so very satisfying one or two days a week. Yeah, I am old.
