I can't imagine life without A/C in Florida. Here you need: freezing A/C, dark window tint, and a kick *ss stereo to make a car drivable on a day to day basis.

And a scraper to remove the bugs from the front of the car. Gads... I lived in Florida (Ft. Meyers area) for a while and I swear... I have never seen so many giant insects crushed on the grille of my car.

It all depends on where you drive. Where I am there is not much of a problem unless it is "Lovebug" season ( I am about 3 miles from the Gulf). Go inland another 10 miles and it gets worse. Much worse.

i remember the clouds of them in orlando. it's really annoying to sweep up OUTSIDE!

keep trying to modify that non turbo V6 and you will see why.

Er... I did it because my 3.8 wouldn't pass emissions and the head gaskets were going. Also, I had another GP with a 305 available. So... yeah.

3.8=boat anchor. thing is my boat is too damn nice to drag a greasy oil caked p.o.s. out to the river, lol.

Yeah... I have to say, the 3.8 is one of my favorite engines. Underpowered or not... my first car, a 1978 Buick Skylark, had one of them. No speed whatsoever, loads of power (the people I bought it from used it to plow the road during snowstorms; it's the only Skylark I've ever seen with a plow frame!). Then I had my original '82 Grand Prix with the 3.8 and, though it wasn't the quickest in the world, it was the car I fell in love with.

My brother also had an '84 Cutlass and an '87 Regal with the 3.8. The Cutlass was actually pretty quick. And the family had a bevy of Malibu's and Monte Carlos and whatnot over the years, all powered by the 3.8.

The thing that all of these have in common is that the engine was the last thing to go on all of them. Most of them had body issues or something else that went; the motors would run forever.

correction, non GN or efi 78-87 3.8.... i have had them and i have had nothing but issues with them on all of them, i even had the old non efi turbo setup and i think with the exception of 1 or 2 of my freinds have all started with 3.8s in their g bodys and they with the exception of maybe 1 they all had timing chain issues and were the biggest oil leakers i have ever owned. on the other hand the newer 3.8 efi motors are the sh*t
