Just wondering if anyones done the new camaro V6 engine swap on there gBodys...my friend has a v6. (says he Couldnt afford SS) Now its been sitting in his driveway since they t-bone him and he thought it would be a cheap to fix. Problem is he sold his leather seats . So now he has a really crash car and no seats and a salvage tittle..

Question is has it been done. Or how hard would it be. To swap out that 6banger in my car. Hes about ready to chuck the car to the local salvage yard. So I can get the engine n trans basically for free if I take it out. And then tow whats left to the yard.

I don't know that it has been done, but it would surely go in there with no more worn than has been done for LS swaps. It would run a lot better than the V6 you have now, unless you have a GN engine. If you could get the whole car for a song, I would definitely consider it. The power and streetibility of the fuel injection would be nice, and it would be different, which is always nice in my book.

The Camaro V6 is reputed to make up to 300 HP. If you can get one with the harness and computer, I think you just need to adapt the power steering and mounts. You'll need the gas pedal, because I think GM uses a drive-by-wire input. Floor shift linkage can probably be rigged up with a G-body cable shifter. To top it off - less weight up front!
