I have a 350 sbc in my car with a edlebrock 600 cfm carb. The car runs and drives very good until i really get on the throttle and it start to feel like it choking or bogging down until i get out of it. If i stay in to long the engine shuts off and sometimes back fire. I thought it was a bad accelerator pump but i took it out and it looks good..what you guys think it can be?

I would try a lighter spring for the secondaries
Eddy carbs have mechanical secondaries. Vacuum secondaries have the calibrated spring Sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me. Tee in a fuel pressure gauage and check yer fuel pressure when yer into her.

My guess is maybe a fuel pump situation or dirty fuel filter? A weak coil might cause problems at wot with sputtering.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

Pull the plugs and clean them. Then go make one or two WOT pulls and immediately pull over and pull one from each bank and see what they look like. Lean or rich will be identified pretty quickly. Or have someone follow you during a WOT pull and see if any black smoke is seen. If no, then either give it more secondary fuel or monitor fuel pressure during a WOT pull.

This will work on the AVS series carbs but not Performer series, which uses a weighted secondary air valve, depends on which carb you have.
