car will not accelerate past 250 km/h

That'd be ideal, but I dont have an overdrive trans, so no. I drive this car on the highway every day. I dont want my highway cruise speeds too much over 2000 rpm

It's possible my speedo is off a bit due to tire size, but still, the principle applies. I wasn't trying to start this thread to brag about top speed, rather get some tips on things to help. Whether its 220 or 240 or 250, has anyone done any sorts of aero mods to improve the car?

when we raced a G body in circle track we raced at 1/3 mile track Friday and changed the rear end for a 1/2 mile track on Saturday. It only takes an hour or so and you'd have a quicker car at the track....or get a quick change 9 bolt

I don't think you could get a G body too go 250 km/h 155.35 MPH If you strapped a rocket on it.

I hear you, but it's just not going to happen. I don't have a garage, and my access to even a driveway is intermittant. I'm working on a shoestring budget also, so its just not going to happen. I've got to work with what I've got. Also, even if I did have cash for that kind of thing, I wouldn't want to, because I cruise on the highway a lot, probably at least an hour a day to and from work. I just can't justify another 1000rpm of fuel expenses for .1 in the 1/4. i want to be somewhat practical 🙂

You would have to strap a roller skate to it's belly

he uses a skate board with splitter up front and a spoiler in the rear.. 😀

before the aerodynamic components are installed

I don't think this high speed run is at a race track guys :|

Typically, the "hot rods" don't set out for top speed because the majority of the owners realize that it is nothing but dangerous and just asking for trouble. Your "import" friends will most likely die in their cars someday :?

If you could get on a 1 1/2 or larger oval and do some "NASCAR" type aero mods, you could possibly get it faster. But you will definitely need some good tires and a very well maintained chassis and suspension system. Fabricate a front air dam/splitter  You could also tape over the grill and headlight bezels, to smooth things out (be sure to leave a strip or two open in the grill, so air can get to your radiator)
