Very cool for a show car, but Carbon fiber is not fond of high speed gravel impacts. Normal driving would not be kind to those.

Thats good to know ...

Those are damn sexy, but too rich for my blood no matter how much I love carbon fiber!!!! Mine will suffice as they've been smoothed and bodyworked, just need paint.

I would sure like to see some pictures of them.

Guy, these are the best pics I have of them right now. I have a pretty cool idea for the finished product, I just need to see if what I'm thinking is possible. Here ya go...

Thanks for the pictures Scott, please post more when you're finished !!
Gives me more ideas for my never ending "To Do" list,LOL

if you've got the time it's totally worth it,i got rid of everything i didn't need.i did a write up on it(working & repairing plastic) in case anyone's interested.

Those are very nicely done! Did you "plastic weld" yours to close in the holes? That's how we did mine. A little patience with the pieces that were cut to fit, and a soldering gun to melt it all back together! It worked like a charm!

When you have time, definitely post a how to thread so others can learn. Once I get back on mine I will document it better and add to the thread if needed.

no i wish i did weld.I'm looking forward to seeing yours done, smoothed out they'll complement that motor nicely.
i used sem plastic repair.i had the liners blasted(yep) inside and out, followed all the prep steps that were dictated by sem in order to use their problem plastic repair material to rebuild the holes.as for the body filler i used sem's no swell plastic filler-it's since been superseded w/carbofill plus.it's designed to be used on plastic surfaces and not swell or distort the substrate underneath or subsequent coatings over it.i finished the insides with a flat clear,it's so much cleaner than a gloss look.I'll spare you the masking/cleaning/painting details(unless someone wants it) because it's something that goes without saying with any auto body repair work.I'm a big fan of sem products though, their instruction sheets/downloads are very informative, tell you which cleaning products etc they wish you to use with their products.

Thanks man, but that engine is no longer! The block cracked, drivetrain was pulled before shipping off to body and paint. I planned on having another 355 built, but one thing led to another and I got a smoking deal on a freshly built 5.3 shortblock! Sold off alot of accessories to my dad for his '90 Jeep YJ sbc swap to fund LS goodies.
I still have all the EFI stuff and need to sell it, but here is the new mill.....

The wheel wells should look slick, at least I hope. I've got some research to do for the final coating, hopefully it will work. I also love SEM products, the cost is a bit higher, but the quality makes up for it! I've used alot of the Trim Black and have a stockpile of Color Coat for my interior color change.

cool, sounds like you had lemons and made lemonade.nice job.
any effort you put into those wheel wells will be a step in the rite direction.if you have any reservations about where you're going with them or not sure what to do,i'm finding there's plenty of good people on here that'll share some insight.
