like the title says, i have an 83 cutlass with a 350 that has one of these on it. someone said they're the same as the edelbrock carbs. is this true?

I've never been any good at tuning carbs and all the Holley's I've owned were on the car when I bought it. These were daily driven street cars. I fought and wrestled with the Holley's for a few years. I finally got fed up and went and bought a new Carter AFB. Bolted it on, set the idle mixture and rpm, closed the hood and never had a problem with them. I drove that car for 10 years and finally sold it. I saw him about a year ago and he's still driving it, same motor untouched right down to the carb. I built a 350 for my Cutlass and I bought a new Carter AFB for it, too. Not a bit of problem. I still have it. I pulled it off only because I went with fuel injection. If I had to go back with a carb, It'd be a Carter without a doubt.

If you can tune carbs the Holley's may be better, but with my experience, I stand behind the Carter's.
