Ok so i bought a car off ebay a couple weeks ago. A real "jewel" of a 86 Monte Carlo SS. I looked at the pictures, asked 10,000 questions, got more pictures, and went on to put a deposit down on the car. Paint, interior, and engine were all supposed to be in fantastic shape. I drove the 6 1/2 hours from indiana to alabama to pick the car up only to find that when i got there the motor knocked, the heater core leaked, the dash was cracked, the windshield was cracked, paint was chipped and cracked, and the seals around the windows sucked. So i told the guy i didnt want it and that i wanted my deposit back for the car, after only running it a few minutes, never even put it in gear. They gave me most of my deposit back and signed a contract with me to have the rest back in 14 days. Well here is where the real messed up part came in, i sent them a message making sure that they were going to send it and they say yes but we found out that the engine just had a seal leak and that the knock came from the engine loosing oil pressure. So i tell them that if the engine was ran without oil or oil pressure and knocked that bad that the bearings are gonna have damage, then they went on to say that i blew the heater core on the test drive, i never even put the car in gear, i would have thrown a rod. They went on to say that if the oil in the engine doesnt work with all the parts it can cause the heater core to fail and that it was my fault. remember the engine only ran when i first got there for a grand total of about 3 to 5 minutes and that the heater core has nothing to do with the engine oil. WHO LETS THESE PEOPLE ON EBAY!!! :wtf:

That sucks thats why i wont buy a car online cause of s@#t like that.

There is a reason for the saying Buyer Beware. Not saying you didn't do your homework but the cracked windshiled and cracked dash should have been in the pictures. Everything else should have been covered by your questions.
The seller did sign a contract to give your deposit back so it doesn't matter what he says happened.
I DO sell parts on Ebay, there is no requirement to sell other than a valid credit card, so in turn it makesme look bad also because of what this joker did.

For the life of me i cant see any of the defects in any of the pictures, nor were any of the issues brought up after all my questions. I just wish that something had been said not just left out. It does make others on ebay look bad because it makes everyone else paranoid to buy. I have bought vehicles off there before with no problems, but this time was a different story

Log into ebay and find that transaction and file a dispute ASAP. Don't wait.

I once waited the 45 day period before filing a dispute of $2500 for tires and rims, which I never received. Turns out, the dispute was filed on the 46th day, not the 45th. So Paypal would not help me, even though I showed them about 20 other people who were ripped off. Ruthless.

So file that dispute, it's the best thing you can do for now.

Oh ive sent about 5 to ebay making sure every detail was covered. Made sure i left a note in the bad feedback i left about the seller, about how bad the car was. the worst part i think is the blame game they played saying that i broke there pos car

Been there done that. Asked 100000 ?????'s Except I was in a rush and just loaded car on trailer only to wake up next morning to a titanic of a rust bucket cutlass. Payed $700 only to hall it to scrapyard that day and get. $140 back. Car was so bad when crane lifted it the frame folded in half and fell out from under car. Sucked up as a live and learn.

What was his feedback score and rating?

Damn sucks you had to drive all that way to find out the cars a pos..least your getting your money back hopefully all of it.

car wasnt rusted at all. in fact it had one of the best body and frames ive seen aside from the paint. However even though they said they would take less it wasnt worth my trouble, if i had wanted a car to put and engine and paint on i would have bought one that i thought needed it. I dont know what there rating is right off hand, id have to look again
