I'm thinkin about gettin a vintage cb radio and vintage antenna for my regal. I think it'd look cool, kinda give the car a vintage 80s feel, but I don't want it to be corny. I'd probably never use it, I'm in the city of Pittsburgh, not southern Georgia. I'd get a magnetic base antenna, so I could remove it if I wanted. What's your guys' opinion?

If you were showing it "factory/stock" class or something it might be cool. If you actually want to use the radio, I'd go on ebay and get a newish Ratshack 40-channel for like 10-20 bux. The vintage will probably only be 23 channels (I can't remember when they expanded it.) Plus there's really not much on 11m anyway, unless listening to idiots hooting unintelligibly into echo boxes is your thing.

I'm really just doing it for the looks, but even if I'm never gonna use the radio, I still want it to work. I'd like to get one with some wood grain on it, for a really vintage look. Getting a radio wont be a problem for me, everytime I go to the flea market, there's like, 50 of 'em, with antennas. Depending on features, they go for about $20-30, which is a helluva lot better than Internet prices.

I'm going to go with "NAY" for a CB and a big magnetic mount antenna. It seems to me more of a 70's era thing like custom vans and not a Gbody era thing.

Yeah I guess a giant 3 ft antenna on the back would ruin all possibilities of a sporty/sleek looking car. I just got my bucket seats and t type wheel, so I don't wanna ruin the sporty thing already. And again, im in the city of pittsburgh, not southern georgia, so i wont use it, nor will i fit in with a city setting. I personally don't see an issue with the era, I see CBs used from late 70s- mid 80s primarily, but I respect your opinion.

I have a factory am/fm/cb radio that came out of a 79 h/o. I have the radio, antenna mount. I can't find the Mic or antenna whip. PM me if interested.
