just dont leave it on that sweet spot too long or shell charge ya child support.... 😀

seriously though its not too hard i did it in a few hours. i just took it down to the shop so they could weld a few bolts on so i didnt have to buy any mounts but other than that its a straight forward install..

It will fit. My buddy has a 81 malibu thaat was originally a bench/columm shift combo. He installed a b&M Quick silver shifter in front of the bench and it fit fine. I will get pics next week if you want

I have an 81 Elco that came with a 3 speed manual on the floor. The shifter works fine with the bench seat. I understand that these are Rare, most people have never seen one. I'm trying to find out how many were made..??

Here's mine- B&M shifter and seat out of a 79,

My 81 El Camino came from the factory with a bench seat and a 3 spd. It has since been converted to a 4 spd in the same location with the bench. I have no problems shifting with no interference from anything.
