I changed my fuel pump on my 350 rocket. now I am not getting any fuel to the carburetor at all. I am going to take it off and do it again. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong. Can somebody lead me in the right direction?

I looked at eveything as I took it apart and put it back the same way. But the pump was hard to go back on.

I think the pump arm has to go under the plump drive Eccentric. It's very easy to get it over it , and you can bend the fuel pump arm .

On an Olds, you have to go over the fuel pump drive.

Try priming the carb by putting gas down the vent tube.

What is the plump drive Eccentric? I know on chevy motors they have a push rod, does the olds have one I didn't see one?

Thanks I thought it was somthing like that. It's been a long week :blam:

The pumps. On a chevy and a olds are positioned differently. Does the rod on the olds slide in between the grooves on th pump how does it exactly go? How would I put the pump on? Where should I look for this rod to be at because I did not see it the first time?

There is no rod. You have the arm that comes off the fuel pump and a fuel pump eccentric that is bolted to the cam. To install the fuel pump, you will slide the arm through the hole in the block with the arm facing upwards. The fittings for the lines will be on top and the smooth part of the arm will be facing down. You will most likely feel some resistance when installing it because the eccentric on the cam will push up on the arm a little, that is normal.

So do I have to take off the timing chain cover to make sure that it connects correctly? How will I know that the pump is on correct?
