Wait - are you claiming that you don't appreciate Capitalism?

VIN has really no bearing on which "conversion number" your car happens to be. Just like the 69's at Demmer, they dragged them in by whichever keys they got next. As the car rolled up in line, it got a serialized "receipt". The number of that receipt became the unofficial car number.

My 84 H/O is #19 for C&C, but who knows which sequence it was in for VINs. It may have been the 28th produced or even the 10th, for example, but the 19th car completed at C&C.

Oh, and you didn't say, but what's the friggin' problem of becoming a member of the H/OCA? Attend an H/OCA meet and you'll quickly see why it's worth every dang dollar. And then some. Of course, there are some tools (aka attention ho's) that tend to ruin the experience for many (me included). I've been a member for going on 23 years now.

You get to do some fun stuff sometimes (2004 meet in Indy) -

So how many people tried to unlock the wrong car? And how many of those successfully got in with their own keys? 🤣

And you're not already a member there? What's WRONG with you Buick people?

Olds clubs are more fun than Buick clubs anyway. Of course you can't know since you don't belong to either of them... 🙂

Just yankin' yer chain.

I would truly tell you what's wrong with me, but no one could live long enough to read it all 😆 I have a very close friend that's actually one of the head guys at the B.C.O.A., he's been trying to get me to join for years, he asks me the same thing 😛
