What brand of shampoo did you use? I'd love to do this.
I worked at a detail shop when I was 17. We just used Tide and a bucket of warm water. You'd be amazed how well it works.

x2! Dish detergent works great, I even use it to clean my floor mats. I'm big fan of keeping my car clean... It might be a grimy job the first time, but after that it becomes a case of maintaining it. Just pull out the vacuum every couple weeks, also go around and wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth, and then apply leathercare or some other protections for all the plastic.

When you have the carpet out, POR-15 everything! Floors, trunk, all the usual rust spots. After fixing all leaks, I put at least 3 coats down of the Silver color, this way if your seals leak again, the metal is protected. It's about $30 a quart, and that will do a whole car nicely.

Cadillac self dimming rear view mirror.

I never thought about swapping one of those. I know I like the one in my Deville! Anything special about doing it or is it just a matter of 12v?
3 wires #1 power #2 ground #3 to power from reverse lite switch. If you have a service manual for your Caddy there is a wiring schematic that shows what wire goes to what pin. If you go get one at a wrecking yard pull as much of the harness that you can get.

Today I got my fender to core support bars, complete third brake light assembly, leather rear side interior panels and some other odds and ends all for just $15 from the local salvage yard. This is the only pic I have with the bars in. Next on the list, new A/C delete heater box!

I do indeed have the 2 phone books....I mean service manuals. I'll have to check it out. The local Pick N Pull has at least 4 or 5 of them too. Thanks.

Yup, a little laundry soap in warm water with a soft brush. Then I took the shop-vac to it, then clean water and shop vac again. Did the front seats at least 4 times, back seat once and the carpets got the pressure washer in the driveway before it was washed twice. Now I stuff laundry sheets under the seats to keep it smelling fresh 🙂

Here's another one of my cheap mods
Roof console out of a 99' blazer
Deffinetly add some convenience.
Took the whole headliner out recovered it my self and used the scraps to cover the console to match.
Deffinetly a chore but $40 for the console and wiring, and 18 for fabric it made for a pretty awsome mod.

JOUNCE BARS. No question. Definate, immediate noticeable difference in body roll when cornering. 20 bucks for those and some spray paint at my local pick-n-pull.

Proper adjustment of secondary air valve! FREE!

DR secondary metering rods. Use to have a bad lean miss at the top end. No more. FREE!

New timing weights and springs to get a good advance curve. 10 dollars at a local parts store! My dizzy had 24 degrees mechanical advance when I bought it - terrible! Definate noticeable power improvement throughout the rev range. 10 dollars!
