reminds me of the movie Grease Lightning lol

just use some of that plastic wrap from the grocery store, it will be like a clear tonneau cover for your engine

very expensive and it will need constant upkeep.

I was thinking there's a problem with keeping it clear overtime. Didn't GM just spend thousands upon thousands to figure out a way to do the clear portion of the hood on the new ZR1?

id think if you had a good hood and made a mold of the top with some fiberglass then if ya got a sheet of somekinda plexiglass or some other clear plastic and heated it so it would fit the shape of the mold. then maybe. it would be pritty sweet to habe a nice cowl hood that was clear.

The thought of a clear hood always stuck with me, ever since I saw the Grease Lightning car.

They make plastics intended to be heated and molded. "Big Daddy" Ed Roth used an oven at a pizza joint to heat a piece of plastic used as the bubble roof on the "Beatnik Bandit". The plastic was heated, then clamped down around the edges, then injected air under it, when it cooled it was a bubble top. Thick enough and strong enough(well, for a hood anyway), I'd be willing to make a safe bet there is much better plastics available now than Ed Roth used in the 60's.
