Thought this was neat, it inspires the thoughts that anything's possible.
The body is made entirely of Plexiglas. It was built as a display for the 1937 Worlds Fair.

I saw this one year at the Iola Old Car Show, in Wisconsin.
Yes, it drives! It's a 1937 Pontiac, fully functional!

i am doing this tomorrorow this is how its done.
buy the clear plastic for home windows at home depot the kinds that blow drys on and it would be clear

just an idea...I work at a sign shop, and we get alot of plastic faces that come thru, some flat and blank that we lay vinyl on, and some that are 3D and have letters or logos that stick out, that are vaccumed formed over wooden molds with a vaccum form machine. we have one at work, but it's been out of comission for some time, before i even started, seems if you could make a mold, the vaccum form a piece of clear lexan or plex it could be possible, if you used a hood as a mold, it'd be a size bigger so that wouldn't work, i've seen it come in thickness up to 3/8 and polished...tho both materials scratch super easily, it'd be impossible for them to stay clear for long, and Idk how it would hold up with engine heat...there was a 63 Impala in lowrider magazine a long time ago that had a clear trunk, the guy was from Canada, it looked badass

Thanks!! Oh yeah. those took forever.

one of my friends dad works at a glass and plastic place and he was sayin if i have a hoo to mold from they should be able to shape the lexan on it. if it isnt to much i think i might do it.
