Has anyone installed these spring expanders before ?

The rear springs seem pretty easy to get to...but the front springs look more complex...

Is it as simple as jacking up the wheels off the ground to release some tension enough to just pop these in or do I need to remove the struts...?

I have 22" IROC wheels and no lift, every little bump in the road and sharp turn I come across, the tires rub in the wheel well...

I did 30 years ago &
hated it damon wayans GIF

Those are just a band-aid & they do pop out of the rears, wouldn't dare to use them up front.
Damn, I have a set of 15" rally's I could put on it until I can afford a better lift...

A friend of mine has these installed on front and back of his Lincoln Town Car and has been riding them almost a year now, the rear has slipped out here recently and punctured the gas tank...

Those things are terrible, there will be a noticeable difference in the ride quality and they have been known to cause springs to fail because they basically crate a "dead" spot in the spring that cant travel and it puts that load on the other coils of the spring. It will normally make them break down toward the control arm. I would only use them if i absolutely had to and for a short time.

I am guilty of using these as a teen when I didn't have any money or know any better and "band aid fix" is putting it nicely, as stated ride quality, possible spring damage is the result and apparently also punctured gas tanks and I am actually surprised they still make these.
When we did use these the rears would get the style posted by the OP but the fronts we used a twist in style and at that time they had 2 different sizes and the larger ones stayed put best.
I still wouldn't recommend them since there are correct ways to raise a car and these are not it.
But this is the front style we used if you are determined to go this route.

I wouldn't put any of those on! That works for awhile on the cheap. better to just put on a doughnut at the bottom of the coil for at least 1/2 to 3/4 in lift if that much.

Coil springs are not too expensive. About $100 per pair. Moog has a nice chart where you can browse all the styles, heights and rates. For the wagon, the stock replacement coils had the car too low. So I used the moog chart to compare specs. I would get the part moog number then order them from Amazon. It took a couple try’s to get the ones I liked. I just returned the ones I didn’t like to Amazon for refund. The ones I settled on are replacement for 94ish Lincoln Continental. They boosted the right height just a bit and still maintain a nice non harsh ride. I’ll see if I can link the moog chart.

Here it is
