Me, circa 1993 with my first car, a Gbody! 81 Regal. I was 16....it had a sunroof and tired Olds 350 in it. I just woke up and looked like a bum that day. haha

Re: Cold outside and bored...some cars throughout the years.

I think I paid $1600 for that 81' Regal......Had it for about 2 years. Loved it too.

Then a few years later, around 1997 bought a black 86 Cutlass Salon from the original owners. It was nice, I think I paid around $2400 for it. I rebuilt an Olds 350 (72 w/7A head, performer pkg, headers, dual exhaust, 7.5 3.73 rear) And after I did all that work, I let the car sit for years. Sold it for $750. 😢 Had this from 1997-2003ish

Then around 2000 I bought this grey 86 salon from another original owner. He crashed into a pole with it. I paid 500 for it. It was actually a nice car other than the front clip. I had a friend at the bone yard at the time, that let me piece together an entire front end from all rust free straight parts for 200 bux. (hood, bumper, clip, fenders) Where are deals like that anymore???

In the one pic, you can see my buddy's 84 Cutlass in the back. T-top car.

Re: Cold outside and bored...some cars throughout the years.

Then this was my fourth G I owned. 1987 Cutlass salon. Again, original family owned. The car was in VGC when I bought it. The prior family took exceptional care of thee car. It was a t-top car as well. I had this from about 2000-2002. I had some good times with this car, but finances forced me to sell it. My brother and I gave the car a fresh paint job too. In the dirt is before, in the grass parking lot is after paint job. I bought the car for 2600, and sold it for 3200. I put around 15K miles on it those couple years I had it too.

And lastly, my most recent (and only) Gbody. 1986 442. This one is going to be sticking around for a while. I bought this Jan. 2012 Fresh paint on it and will be a constant ongoing project for me. I enjoy the hell out of this car!

Nice! I have a similar picture of me and my 87 Regal which was my first car. I live in an upper middle class suburban neighborhood, so you can imagine the neighbors' reaction when I brought home this multicolored-beatermobile and parked it on the front lawn! Here I was with it a month or two after I bought it-

I love the chronology of your past rides. I have posted various snippets of my G-body past and generally the threads just die. 'Ho-hum'. Blew866442, I appreciate that you scanned in some old photos and posted them for others to view. It's nice that as you have gotten older and your pockets deeper, you have upgraded to where you wish you could have been in 1993.

Funny, I had a similar story. One of my friends lived in a gated community, half million dollar homes. I would show up there with my half grey/ half grey primer 86 Olds. I'm sure they loved seeing that thing parked in the streets!

I will search for your threads now...

I think pictures from the past are the coolest. And you're 100% right. If I would have only had the knowledge and money 20 years ago......ahhhhh. :|
