Hello, I recently got my SB355 up and running and is sitting in a garage. I live in Ohio and it's December so that means 30 degree temps. I heard that it isn't good to start up your engine in the cold...bent valves or something can happen along those lines...true or myth? I need to run the bad gas through so I wanted to start it for a min and just let it run. Opinions?

Your fine. And 30degrees is nothing. If it's below zero you shouldnt stomp on it when the engine is cold but theres no issues with idling or even getting mean to it without the motor warmed up at those temps.

You had better dump a couple 'octane booster' in there or it won't let you go back in the house while idling though. Just a tip from guy who worked @ chem plant for a few months: octane boosters are all esentially the same chemical so if you see one for $2 vs one for $6 they are all virtually the same trust me; save your money and buy the cheaper one.

I'm not following you on this. Why would an engine require octane booster to idle in the cold? If your engine's in a good state of tune and the choke is set properly, you should be able to start the engine and put it in gear without stalling, burping, or coughing. I don't see how higher octane would help you do this.
