To be honest, all I remember about the factory cable is taking it off and throwing it in a box when I put my B&M shifter in... I don't even know if the factory piece has any adjustment in it.

It does....the bracket where the bolt that attaches the cable to the transmission has an elongated hole to adjust the cable...
