I've been thinking about a floor shift conversion in my regal. How difficult is it? Can I use the same column? How much eill it cost in parts not including shifter and console? Thanks,

Cheapest thing to do is find a donor car. You will need the brackets. You can cheat the column. Just remove the arm by pulling the pin.
There is a dimple on every floor for the guide for the shifter cable. I use this when laying out the console. Keep in mind on a Buick & a Olds the brackets are just slightly off center. Not dead center.
If you find a complete conversion do it that way.
Also you will need the brackets on the trans for the shifter cable as well.

When we sold it we sold the column, console, shifter Brackets, & cables. I would actually cut the floor out so the person could use the dimple To lay the patch section we had cut out.

Yes you can use the same column. Heres a list of parts needed. I would try and buy most of these parts in a kit with the shifter and console.

console
console brackets ?
shifter
shifter brackets ?
shifter cable
Shifter cable bracket (This one bolt to the transmission pan using two transmission bolts)
Transmission bracket (This one bolts to the gear selector stud on the side of the transmission it also has a spot for your column shifter rod so the reverse lights and locking column still work.
Two cotter pins for both ends of the cable.
one clip to hold the cable to the shifter.

Sounds like a PIA for something that I don't need... I'll keep it in mind and if a floorshift car is in the pic a part next time I'm there, I'll grab some stuff off of it. Paint is a priority, then exhaust, then getting my 350 SBC, then floorshift. So it's in line, but I got other things to do first.

how to I get the shift lock to work on the floor shifter?? Meaning when you press the brakes and the shift releases, how do i get that to function when Im converting to a floor shift? I was thinking maybe wire it to the brake light??
