rear disc break conversion - what is needed to work with factory rear end?

I noticed these washers in the Dorman drum brake hardware set, what are they used for?
do not lose those! those little C-clips go flying when you pull apart the lever off one of the shoes. I can't tell if your design uses them but, again, don't lose those. they are almost impossible to find sold separately. and 1 day you may have another vehicle that uses them.

Drums actually have more holding power than disks. Its why rear disks usually still have mini drums for emergency brakes.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with drum brakes. Unless you are auto-crossing, driving excessive speeds, hard driving or just want rear discs because they are bitchen looking, (and they are) drum brakes are more than adequate. When I eventually replace my rear axle, I will stick to drum brakes because that’s all that’s needed for a cruiser.
