Much easier and less messy to get one of these and drain radiator from the top and fill an empty container.. And reuse your coolant if it's not gunked up.. 🙂

Did your new lower hose come with a spring inside? If it did not take the spring out of the old hose if it has it and install it in the new one. The purpose of that spring is so the bottom hose doesn't collapse.

None I’m assuming owner before me took it out or didn’t even notice it
