Cooling issues

I would remove the radiator and find a better one that was designed for a Gbody in my Regal I installed a Champion 3 row aluminum radiator and it fit perfectly in my stock shroud, later I will be installing a SBC in there and I already have a dual fan Interepid set waiting for the swap but you could run your new radiator with a stock shroud and fan first and will probably resolve your cooling issue.
Below is a picture of my project Regal with the Champion radiator and stock set up and you can see where the blades should be in relationship to the shroud.View attachment 69978
Saw this on rock auto worth looking into??? Combined with electric fan ??

Getting the electric fans will solve the problem you have because the fan not being in the shroud is doing you no good.

If you do not have ac in the car or do not plan to put it in then get rid of the ac condensor to allow a clearer path for the air to get through your radiator.

If you keep what you have as far as fan and shroud you might need a different shroud for the smaller radiator that will allow the fan to work properly and avoid overheating. It could be the angle of the pic you took but the fan blades look a few inches above the shroud and the radiator is sitting too low compared to stock? I know it is smaller but maybe some different rubber shims to adjust the radiator height might help?

Good luck with it and hope you figure it out easily and cheaply!
And yea the fan blades sit higher than the shroud I kinda think that's the radiator is to small all together I couldn't see for sure but I ran my finger inside a felt but just 1 core I believe ‍♂️

I know some people have had good luck with aluminum radiators with plastic tanks but I have also heard of leak issues which is one reason I prefer an all aluminum radiator that is welded it eliminates those issues.

I am going to have to disagree, his radiator to me looks like one for a stock V6 so regardless of what kind of fan set up you use I doubt it is up to the task of cooling a healthy SBC but I agree if he is not using the condenser for the ac that will help with air flow to the "new" radiator.

It's time to buy a new full size radiator, no one ever complains about over cooling.

car has a full ac delete no condenser nothing just alt on bracket
You must be thinking of the compressor, the condenser is in front of the radiator in your picture.

As soon as I looked at the engine compartment I saw the problems. Find a good stock replacement shroud. That will make a significant difference...plus a heavier duty radiator core. I've used a 3-row Modine radiator for many years without any cooling issues. The fan blades are supposed to be recessed into the shroud at least halfway. I guarantee once you correct those issues, it will cool much better. Btw, how's your fan clutch ? If that's worn it also won't help aid in the cooling.

Get a good 3 or 4-row radiator. Also make sure you have an air deflector under your rad support.
