I'm in the market for new tires. I am considering a set of Cooper Cobra GT's. There's not many choices in the size that I'm considering. I've had BF Goodrich radial T/A/s in the past. I'm generally looking for a tire that wears relatively well and is priced reasonably. I guess you could say that I'm budget minded.
The car won't be auto X'ed or raced at the track. It will be used primarily as a cruiser and hauler (at times).

what are your experiences... pro's and cons are with these tires.

Thank you!

I just threw a set of 245 60 15s on the front and 255 60 15s on the rear of my 86 Monte SS on its factory wheels. They wear pretty well, they have decent traction and are cheap. It is not the same as my Nitto 555 tires but they are a good tire for a budget minded consumer. I bought them all at discount tire, store for fronts, eBay for rears.

Sorry about the night pics and half pics. But you can see what they look like on factory N90 wheels.

I had some at one time also Jack. I don't recall having any ride or wear issues with them. (short of the nuclear burnouts taking some life)

Thank you very much for your input, guys.
I've been trying to check out the reviews online, but as always, you'll get some that like 'em and some that don't.

As for the appearance, I always turn the raised white letters to the inside. I was never a big fan of raised white letters.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.

I had a set of BFG traction TA's on my cutlass. Got the car aligned but they still wore fast. I got so sick of only seeing white lettered BFG radial TA's and their archaic tread pattern that I got a set of Coopers. Now the rear BFG's are on the front and Ive got Cooper 235/60/15's on the back now. They work surprisingly good in the snow compared to the old BFG's. I ran the letters inside anyways.

The options for wider 15's are pretty thin.

I've had both on my cars. The BFG's are obviously priced higher than the Coopers. I have Coopers on my 442 now, and spoke with my friend who manages the local Pep Boys speed shop as they are in need of replacement. They sell both Cooper and BFG, but he recommended that I go with the Coopers. The cost about $30 less per tire ($120 savings for 4) and from both of our experience wear about the same. So in a few weeks I'll be getting the Coopers to replace the existing Coopers on the car now.

Thank you very much guys!
I now feel better about purchasing the Coopers. I have noticed with the Radial TA's that they were a bit slippery in the rain, and I've owned 2 sets over the years.
If I can get a decent amount of miles(and wear) out of these, I'll be happy. The price seemed to be pretty good, which is what attracted me.
I think most Cooper dealers have an anniversary sale going on. I may as well take advantage.

Thanks again guys! I truly appreciate your input.

Thank you Doug...and the rest of you guys for helping me with my decision.
