Put the jack stand here. On the lower A arm, to support the weight of the car. Adjusting height so spindle to ground is at desired ride height with the rear. In my case I used an angle gauge on the frame as I have adjustable fronts and fine tuned height after.

Put the caster/camber tool on brake rotor. Plumb Bob from rotor to ground for tape lines to find 20 degrees steering angle. The only load on the upper arm is weight of spindle and hub so you can adjust uppers easily.

I double checked on the tires after suspension settled as i did toe and it was good.

I may have also fluked out and been successful by accident, so there's that.

Felt froggy after loading up on coffee and ice cream post-Father's Day dinner... so I stripped off the remaining chrome.

And what a shitty experience it was!

Top tip: break-away torque too high on those little b*st*rd trim screws? Heat the head of them up real good with a propane torch, slather on some WD40 or candle wax, and smack the heads with a hammer. Should work everytime.

Yippie rust in the never winter driven undercoated granny-mobile! See all that dirt and junk? It is probably hiding in your car too. Clean your wheel wells, kids.

Patch panels here we come! Good thing we are building a drag car, not a show car.

Come a long way in 5 years... But, not out of the woods yet.

Primed, seam sealed, and undercoated the rest of the wheel tubs and dusted some primer on those patch panels I identified needing oh so long ago. Pretty hilarious in retrospect... never thought I would have been the one to make them from scratch.

I can toss some paint on the frame and start driving this thing again. Pretty good Father's Day present to give yourself.

That's the fastest 5 years of my life. I can't believe it's been 5 years!

Guess who's baaaaaack?!

Took a little time to goop some more paint onto the car. Copious amounts of POR-15 to help seal up the gaps, seams, and pinholes... I do love me some capillary action.

Literally watching paint dry at this stage.

I also increased the material thickness for the lower shock mounts. Not pretty and nothing special - just not so thin now. Less likely to break.

Tomorrow I should be able to button up the exhaust and get the seat belts back in. Tatiana was stoked to hear it was coming back out... she asked if I'd painted it yet. LOL.

Painted this during my meeting today. Used a whole can of JD muffler paint.

Call it: Coats between quotes.

Mike? What's that rattling noise?!

Rattling noise? Must be on your end, Sir.

Buttoned up the exhaust, added a hanger and popped the wheels back on.

I am still trying to figure out how/why the rear has gone down over a half inch without any changes.

After a short drive it's decided to self clearance. Not surprisingly.

So I guess I have two options: A) Raise the car up. B) Chop it up.

Hand me my body saw...
