correct way to install MSD box

I was wondering whats the correct way to install an MSD box on a 1984 Hurst olds with the computer controlled distributor...I've been told several things

1. follow the diagram on MSD website(which is the way I have it)

2. remove the module in the distributor and run only the box(not sure how this will work with the computer, but is said to yeild the best performance)

hey dude
if you have a 5 or 7 pin module you have to leave the module in the dist.
you have to splice into the conectector to the cap call msd's tech support they will help you.

Are you talking about the 6AL?Did you buy it used?

Yes it's a 6al box and I had it installed on another car but I had installed a different way.

Are you having problems with it? What is the car used for, street or race?

I was experiencing some difficult in starting but had many variables along with it so not sure if it was the box. Is it neccesary or an good idea to upgrade the ignition control module?
