Finally! The SC Governor announced today that starting Monday, March 1st, that the requirements for permission slips from the Dept. of Commerce needed to have gatherings of more than 250 people have been lifted. Also, restaurants and bars serving alcohol can basically go back to pre-Covid days as far as selling it with no curfew hours and can sell past 11 pm. This is great news for many small businesses.

This is to say that mask mandates and social distancing are still in effect until there's more herd immunity or whatever, so there may be some limitations on the amount of people concentrations, but regardless, it's putting more control back in South Carolinian's hands. Responsibility where it belongs. Our governor has always been a proponent of opening the state as much as possible ASAP.

It may have something to do with confirmed Covid cases across the state dropping by over 70% in the last month. We had 26 confirmed cases in our county in one day at last count. We're still not getting the vaccines at the rate as originally promised, but that's probably another story altogether.

Hopefully whatever state your in is heading toward more open businesses. Who knows what's ahead, but it's one step further into whatever we used to call normal.

Don't worry everywhere isn't getting the vaccine as quickly as promised. My Wife as a Nurse finally got her vaccine last week.

OK. If it went over your head, the "monday" thing was a warning. I got too much other stuff going on than to deal with people pushing to see what they can get away with today.
This last one has no relevance to this thread, and this is another warning. No politics. Especially irrelevant crap that has nothing to do with the thread.

Sorry for the triple post there, apparently have a gremlin to root out in the software, kept telling me "there was a problem blah blah" but it actually posted. Sigh. I hate Mondays.

Just pretend you're in Japan right now, go off Tokyo time. Problem solved, it's now Tuesday.

16 confirmed cases in my county on Saturday.

Now, with later hours and more alcohol, and allowing bigger groups starting today...will we see an uptick in cases? My question is, are as many people getting tested as before? Appears we have about a 9% hit rate of cases for the amount of testing since all this started. 207 deaths out of 15K+ cases. I do wonder how many cases are actually from Covid or just Covid-related. Early on they didn't know what the f**k they were doing so death rates were high because everything was stamped "Covid".

I think with the J&J vaccine they'll be able to stab more arms and get ahead of any variant strains. Hopefully. So far, the vaccines seem rather safe, statistically speaking. Sure, an off-shoot of issues here and there, but you get that with any vaccine that was never taken before.
