Crankcase Breather

I want to run the stock style one but i don't think that's an option for me anymore. This is the air cleaner i plan to use http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-1223, i've seen other people on here using this because they will fit a Qjet and clear the linkages. plus i like the matte black finish.

That's the style breather I've got now

Can i replace the breather with this?

Or should i use this instead? i like this one because it uses engine vacc, i feel like it would do a better job than the one above

I am also running a PCV valve on the left valve cover, this breather goes on the right, if that matters.

I have a similar base and bolted on the fitting to attached the hose from the valve cover. They are strict around here with venting to the atmosphere...$385 strict..

Dayumm.. Well i won't have that problem, the area i'm in right now isn't an emissions county, and where i'm moving too doesn't even have safety inspections lol. Is it better for the engine to vent to the atmosphere or back into the intake?

I always like to have a simple PCV valve and a breather. It's good for it. 😀

I'm just going to run the Filter style one for now, if need be i'll tap the fitting into the base of the air cleaner and switch back to the stock style later on.

The only thing i don't like about the filter style one is they look kind've tacky haha.

Have a breather on both side and a pcv valve off the back of the right.

If you decide to use a PCV, be sure the valve cover is baffled. If not you suck the oil pan dry.

Yeah they're baffled they're the stock set just repainted.
Bowtie i'm working within a budget, but i'll keep that in mind if i decide to replace the valve covers with an after market set.

Didn't mean for you to buy new covers - just the idea.

I forgot to mention that there are spacers for air cleaners if you have clearance issues. I use one on my carb...
