I built my own crossmember for my TH400, but I'm not happy with it. Does anyone have an aftermarket crossmember in their pre-84 Gbody that doesnt use a cheesy frame extension?

Agreed, the frame extension is very cheesy...Maybe Iceman makes one. I thought I read somewhere that he does made to order crossmembers...
I've purchased a frame extension from Iceman years ago. I suppose you can always contact him and ask if he's still producing them.

I built my own. 81 TH350 crossmember with a 200r4. Gets rid of the goofy offset mount. Only problem is I had some wierd problems with the trans so the 350 went back in until this summer hopefully.
It was free material and we are farmers, light isnt in our vocabulary when it comes to fabrication. :lol:
