I need help with the trans crossmember so i can run duals, i need to notch out the metal so they will fit obviosly but does anyone have some exact measurments? i have a spare im guna give to a guy to do the work quickly becuase i dont have the tools, but how much do i need to cut out and do i need to even reweld new metal back in? any advice please, and i would like to order a crossmember but for the daily drive i dont need anything pretty, just somethig to work , thnks.

i dont know the exact size..but id weld a plate on top and fill in the metal where u cut...to keep the integrity of the crossmember.

are you set on running your duals strait back? i have mine set up on both of my cars so that both pipes run down the same path as the factory exhaust untill it hits the mufflers. just a suggestion...

This link should answer your questions and gives some pictures.

Also Chris Alston Chassis Works offers a bunch of do it youself Cross member kits. They come with a tubular cross member and all of the necessary brackets. They range from $69 to $110. But I think you will have to extend the frame on one side to use one of these. John Bzdel used one on his LS1 swap and walks thru the process on his website.
