I need to replace the crummy rubber offset transmission mount in my 83' Bonneville wagon. I have a manual trans and the shifter is banging against the floor any time I hit a decent bump. They don't make that mount in poly yet. I have a G-force crossmember and I want to use that with the normal GM poly transmission mount. I can't find those rubber insulators that go between the frame and crossmember, and the originals look shot. Has anyone found a source for these? I was thinking of just hard bolting the crossmember right to the frame, and hoping the poly mount would keep the vibrations down. Has anyone tried this? It's a street car so I want to keep the noise down.

My crossmember is bolted directly to the frame. I don't have any noise or vibration issues that are related to having it like that.

I have G-Force crossmembers in both my Olds's, and they actually specify leaving those rubber insulators from the original crossmember out, and bolting it directly to the frame.

Wow! Thank's guys. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear!
