My first fiberglass job

At first I thought I'd just go online and find custom dashes for sell so I did a sloppy job taking my old faded cracked dash out, but I never found anything that was already made so I decided to do the work myself.

I just made an album but here's a couple pics

its your car and if your happy then it is great 😀 but it looks to me like it needs allot more filler and sanding to get it smooth or you could cover it in some kind of cloth or leather. and it has been a long time since I seen a chain wheels in a car

Last time I saw one of those was in Cheech and Chongs Up in Smoke.
They allow you to drive with handcuffs on

yeah, I agree. I may take it to an upholstry guy and see what he can do.... or look around here for one for sale.

Are g body dashes interchangable?

Yes and no. Side to side is the same,as is steering column space. Lower mounting points look to be same but upper screws are different on some. I couldn't put an 86' MonteSS dash in my 83' Bonneville because the cowl screws were not even close, and AC ducting was different. But the 86' SS dash fit my 81' Malibu perfectly. And 84' GP instruments fit the Bonne just fine. I think if you stick within your make and series of car you can choose a dash from different models and years.

The buick regal dash will fit into a malibu with a few slight modifications, move a couple of the U nuts around to the extra mouting tabs, slightly bend the others out of the way, reroute the wires in the connector for the cluster, wire in the buick head lamp switch (or modify the dash to fit the malibu's current one), cut out slot for the malibu's dash mounted wiper switch, modify harness to work with the buick's defog switch and probably a bunch of other things that I forgot I had to do. It's possible to go from one make to another, but it's a lot of extra work, lots of test fits to get it right, and very time consuming.

I put the wiper switch where the left AC vent was, since my Malibu had no AC. I just trimmed the swith and epoxied it in place. Then I found a tilt column with the wiper/dimmer switch- as per my usual luck.
