Hey everybody, I'm redoing my headliner and using a different material i found at joann fabric, my question is do i need to put foam in between the headliner board and the material or just glue the material to the board, it seems the only sheets of foam i can find is 1/2 " thick and that seems to thick for the headliner? Does anybody have any suggestions, i think it would look better with some kind of foam behind it but i just don't know what to use?

It will look much better with some foam. What you need is around 1/4 inch thick or slightly thinner.

Upholstery supply shops stock the correct type of material....why change it up? It's not the fabric that GM used which is bad, its the crappy glue they used and not applying enough of it consistently. I'd recommend 3M HD headliner spray glue....I've always had great luck with it!

i was thinking 1/4" would make it look better, i'm changing because i want it to match the material i'm redoing my door panels with, it's a different color than what headliner material comes in. thx for the help.
