I guess I misread the title of this thread. I thought it said "customs," not "tastless donks."

There are no donks posted in here. A donk is a nickname for a 71-76 Chevy Caprice or Impala. And yes, my friend's car required a good deal of custom work to achieve its current appearance thus making it a candidate for this thread.

Noted.

What would be the proper term for a G body on wheels that are too big? Certainly not a 'Box' as that is reserved for '77-'90 Caprice and Impalas.

My El Camino has some custom work done to it, but its not a custom, nor is it in this thread (or section for that matter).

When I think 'custom' these cars do not fit the description, at all. On the whole, this whole scene seems to be how much money and 'stuff' you can throw at a car, not really going for a nice looking finished product. Thats my opinion.

There is definately alot of work put into these cars, i personally am not a huge fan of the big rims but there is alot of nice cars with tons of attention to detail. Just because myself or some others are not fans of some styles i still appreciate a nice ride and someone who spends the time to make it his or her own. Thats the point to the hobby isn't it?

There's no such thing as too big. People modify the cars to make the wheels fit, just like how drag racers get their cars mini-tubbed and back-halfed. The nicknames Donk, Box, Bubble don't have anything to do with the wheels. I've got two Bubbles and I've had two Box Chevys. That being said, the there is no nickname for our cars, they're just G-Bodies. As for a nice looking finished product, anyone who's actually into the culture knows that these cars are never finished. They're constantly being upgraded, flipped, and redone. All you can do is watch and hate.

Oh they are definetly a couple of nicknames for those cars!!!

But to each there own,

The body work and paint in my opinion is usually the best feature for me on these types of cars.

I may not like the paint but it is layed down nicely.

Better than them rotting in a junkyard......

Any more pics of that Malibu?
