my guess would be you tightened the control arms down without the car being at load condition. in other words, bushing mount points are not to be tightened down unless the vehicle is sitting on the tires with all of it's components installed.

it's looking good, what industry do you work in? I used torque seal was when I worked on aircraft and the blue stripe on your bolts and nuts reminds of that.

Hi guys,

I've installed a pair of new front shocks (Bilstein B4),all my ball joint and bushings are new (energy suspension) and....i've cut my springs, 1 spindle (no comments lol) but now, the car seems to be more higher than factory height.....
WTF ?? normal or not ?

in the car, i've only installed the engine with the transmission and my front end !!

Thanks for your help

With the engine and transmission, height should be in its final state.

Maybe the springs are not positionned correctly in their seat? I installed stock height Buick GN in my 1984 Cutlass, and they are not that high AND uncut. But it was quite a difficult process positionning the springs correctly in their seat.

Yes, the springs was not in place in the seat AND the rear shocks are totally dead !!!! (and the trunk is full lol) :blam: :blam: i think this is why she looks so high...

but, another problem, i've tried to identify my rear axle, but i can't find the codes on any GM list !i know it's a limited split diff but that's all
the stamped code is: 6BH k 001

Anyone can help me ?

Hi guys,
My name is Lionel and i live in south of France.
I follow your forum and your projects since long time. 😀
Now it's time to present my car
I've bought a Cutlass 1980 in 2012.
She was equipped with leather seat in really nice condition,a 350 buick selled it separately with the transmission because Buick parts are most expensive than the chevy......and i already have a 305 chevy ready to be installed .
Now I'm going to repaint frame, change all the bushings, suspension, etc.....

Sorry if my english is not so proper lol

Let see some pics

Hi guys, i think i know why the car is so high....i have the OEM springs installed on it they are from.....Diesel !!!!!

Yes it was a diesel car at the origin....

you think it's possible ?

Should have kept the Torquey Buick 350. You are same as everyone else now, SBC powered, ugh 305 too. Nice car otherwise.

Yes, the diesel springs will make your front end sit much higher.
