There’s another thread with your answer. Search dash bezel. My olds 442 vent bezel just pulled off like the bezel for the radio, or the dash speaker grills. Held in with those wire hooks that are shaped like a V.How is the best way to remove the dash bezel? The long plastic bezel with the three A/C ducts. Looks like there are 6 clips holding it on.
Car is an 1988 MC SS.
Thanks!
Since the stuff is 30+ years old it either goes one of two ways. Super easy or something breaks. I am sure you’ll have good fortune.Yup I found that. Thanks!
Does it go back on pretty easy?
Not quite following you. When you say "gently pull using a needle nose on the vent blades"....There isn’t a female side. At least on a Cutlass, The spring clips are part of the bezel and fit into a slotted hole in the instrument panel substrate. I’ve found the best way to remove them is to gently pull using a needle nose on the vent blades. Try to distribute the pull force equally as you remove it.
No, don’t remove the clips. They have hooks that grab the plastic in the screw bosses that are injection molded into the back side of the bezel. Just grab the adjustable vent louvers or blades with a needle nose and gently pull at each corner. Not quite following you. When you say "gently pull using a needle nose on the vent blades"....
Are you talking about removing the clips from the bezel once the bezel is out? Or is this to get the bezel removed.
What is the vent blade?
Sorry for a thousand questions and thanks for the help
