Dash noises

As posted above, it's typically not the dash nor the windshield but the middle hood bumper that needs greased.

My '87 used to do this all the time as well as my dad's '74 Delta. Greasing the middle bumper cured it.
 
Open your hood and look at the front corners on top of the core support. There are two black plastic/rubber bumpers sticking up that the hood rests against.
Now look at the center of your cowl at the base of the windshield, there will be another one of these bumpers just like the two at the front.
Put a little lithium grease on the bumper and your done.
