I am finishing up a project right now. Is there a stock tach that I can use that will sit where the clock is and match the rest of the dash, or did they all come with clocks?

The factory tach was an option. As long as you already have the round gauge cluster and the white wire that goes out through the firewall is in the wiring harness it' should be a direct bolt in.

Excellent. Anywhere you can recommend to find one? Craigslist and Ebay showed nothing. Getting a little tired of trying the local yards.

I don't think an 81 el camino has the round gauges. I have an 80 and it has 1 large square mph ,a clock on the right, and a fuel gauge on the left.

The round gauge cluster was optional, and required a completely different cluster...

here's a quick pic of one...not the best pic

78-79 had slightly different needles (thinner and more redish)I have a cluster here but no pic I guess... the above pic is 80-85 and then the 86+ used this style guage
