The large nut is going to be 1".
 
If you absolutely have to use an adjustable then that's what you'll use, I don't like adjustables for small stuff but for 1" it should be fine. The fuel line should be 5/8 but may be metric in which case I don't know if it would be 15mm or not.

I thought it the fuel line was 9/16 but you're right., 15 mm which is close to 11/16
 
The fuel filter is an item you will notice fails often because of the poor quality of today's fuel. Newer vehicles have much larger fuel filters to compensate for ethanol and 'blend' chemicals. Replace the line to the back of the carb if it is even slightly cracked. You'd be surprised how even the most microscopic crack reduce fuel pressure and cause a failure in a short period of time if left unchecked.
