Thanks for all the input on this thread.
I'm just starting C5 front discs and '00 F-body rear discs with 18" wheels on my '79 Malibu.
I'm very curious who has done this or something similar and what master cylinder, proportioning valves really work.

98-02 f-body brakes front/rear using my stock master and prop valve with no problems so far. Checked the new master before I put it on and it didn't have that 10 psi residual pressure valve that's needed for your rear drums. That valve needs to come out if using disk/drum master when disk brakes on the rear of our cars.

Have you confirmed that this 1" bore master will slide into the recess on our brake boosters? I tried a 1" bore master I had and it wouldn't fit my booster so I had to go with a stock replacement. This would be great if it does indeed fit.
 
There are members here that have used it. I have mine sitting on a shelf still.
