distributer and carb questions

hello im new on here i own 3 cutlass
a 86 t top
a 85 with i tpi i swapped in and a 84 wit a v6
my question is on my 86 it has a olds 307 i want to get rid of the computer, so what distributer and carb can i use?
i can get them from a junk yard maybe off a older car and rebuild them.

Welcome! I think you can run a carb and distributor from a pre-81 car....but I am sure someone will post to affirm or correct this. I as well, would like to get rid of my CC carb on my 3.8 in my 83 Cruiser.....just haven't done it yet. You will find many knowlegable, willing to help people here. Enjoy your stay.

I do believe the 307 and 350 Oldsmobile engines use the same distributor. If you can find a good used 350 distributor you could use that (48-1893 is a remanufactured part number through NAPA).

As far as the carburetor goes, you could go with an original non-CC Quadrajet or any aftermarket carburetor would work just fine for you.

also was wonder ing what do i do with the transmission if i delete the computer? it hasa connector to trans for torque convertor lock up i beleive

You will either have to get a non-lockup converter or a switch kit for it.
