Do you have a timing light?

I don't but I can get one . Im looking at videos on how to find tdc then use the light to get it were it needs to be im still confused on how it's done.

Can someone post a pic of were the timing tab is on a 1984 monte carlo ss stock 305. I think mine is missing is it.on the driver or passenger side ? I think I have to start from the beginning to get this distributor right .
