There's just a slot in the balancer correct? If the crank is fine, then just buy another balancer and put it on. You can buy "key stock" at any hardware store. I had to do that with my crank since the key fell out. Bought a 12" piece of 3/16" stock and cut it to length.

Sorry to hear that man. If you're trying to sell it on here, you might want to put some smaller wheels on there though.

That's cold, man.

It's just a fact of life on here.

Playing victim huh...Just because many of us have no use for the large wheels it doesn't mean we would not be interested in purchasing the car. After all there is plenty of your type to buy the wheels. Your comment is just a childish attempt at getting a reaction so you can spout off again. This thread is about someone having a major issue with his car and perhaps will be offering it up for sale or for parts. Why you feel the need to have the attention deflected towards you is rather obvious.

Dang, that sucks :x Is this the one you were working on the wiring for a while back?

If I were you I'd let it sit for a few days and then make up your mind what you want to do. What seems like a deal breaker today may not seem so bad in a few days....

hmm sounds like something i went through once, couldnt make up my mind and jumped the gun in selling it then backed out. i compleatly agree you should think about it before you throw it out the window

Sorry to see that.... But I would do like Pontiac and Eric said and just think it over before you do anything like tear it apart. It is extremly easy together frustrated with older cars and want to beat the sh*t out of them. There has been many a times with my 1972 Cutlass where I spend a lot of time and money to fix an issue, and the very next day something else stupid breaks. It has a real way of taking the wind out of your sails. I am new to these forums, so don't really know how much time you have invested in your car, but I would just hate to see you part it then regret it afterwards. I regret everday selling my 1972 Monte Carlo just because it needed break work. But it looks like your car is pretty sweet and even if it sat on the sidelines for a few months before you can get it fixed, it might be worth it.

Try having a project car and not having a job. I have considered selling mine more than a few times since I haven't had a job, but I just find something to do on the car and the thought usually leaves my mind.

HA! I actually have 2 project cars and no job! I would sell a kidney before having to sell one of them (well maybe not....but I would do everything I could not to)

how about you guys place yourself in the position with kids, no job, in school full-time but have 2 project cars. I cant keep dumping money in this thing anymore. I dont have it right now especially since Im going back down south pretty soon. It would be on hold either way. Ill probably have a list and prices up saturday.

as of right now the motor/trans is up for sale for $500 and for the rest Ill take $1000 obo with 22's
No rims, full interior and complete body is $500 also. Detroit,MI.

I hear you Gbody, life has an annoying way of getting in the way of our fun. We are not in your exact situation, and can flap our gums all day long, but in the end you need to do what's best for you and your family. I'm sure you shouldn't have any problem selling it, it looks like a pretty sweet car. Good luck with everything!
