what is the black piece called that's on the door jam(on car)looks like lever that makes the door shut smooth i guess not sure what it does .. but one side is broke got to see if i find it
 
I think you are looking for a seat belt retractor. Does it look like this?

those are what make the seat sets retract back to there place
 
Those are actually what allows you to "lock' the belt with some slack in it when wearing it. With broken ones, the belt will suck down against your chest. I hate that, when broken, they're just like all new cars....it's nice to have the belt on, but not constantly on you.

I have some in good working condition. If you want them let me know. You can try your local salvage yard
