Drain brake fluid

open the bleeders and have a beer agreed, but stop by the hardware store and find some tubing to fit over the bleeders then stop by the package store go home and enjoy 🙂

do you want it drained or just fresh fluid ? To drain the system use the above method. If you just want fresh fluid drain the reservoir with a syringe and wipe out the bowl with a fresh clean rag. Re-fill will fresh fluid and bleed the brakes as normal until you are satisfied that you have pushed thru all the old fluid ( starting with the rears then the fronts )

using the above method, you can also get blue DOT 4 fluid from ATE IIRC. this way you know when all the old fluid is out. DOT4 is fully compatible (and better than) DOT3

if you are just changing the fluid make sure you don't let the master go dry or you may have to bench bleed the master...

how do you know if its "dry"? IIRC you can just fill it and bleed them as u would normally and get the air out without taking off the MC. Just my experience....

if your bleeding the brakes and there is no fluid left in the master....and by bench bleeding that is just a procedure....you can do it in car and it's just hooking up a line to run back into the reservoir...you bleed the mater until there is no air in the lines and then the brake lines get re-connected

Well, im old school, so what Ive always done when flushing lines and fluid, is let gravity flush out the old fluid completely, close all the bleeders except the farthest one, then fill the MC with clean fluid, pump it about 3 full pumps and let gravity push the fluid to the caliper/cylinder and repeat with each wheel. when it begins to run without bubbles out of the bleed screw (with a hose attached running into a clear bottle), its bled. easy, clean and simple and u dont need any help to get the job done.
